The founders of MapTech have a long history in the area of watershed-scale research, including hydrologic and water quality studies.  Watershed-scale research studies have included efforts to assess the effectiveness of manure management BMPs in a rural watershed, to quantify the impacts of residential development on water quality, and to evaluate conservation tillage practices through analysis of both surface and ground water.  Recent contracts have involved monitoring watersheds across the Midwest to assess the fate and transport of pesticides.  MapTech has long been, and continues to be, a leader in environmental research efforts.  From the desktop, to the laboratory, to the field and watershed, MapTech has the expertise necessary to develop and assess technologies that protect the environment and promote a sustainable society.
